Biography —
Kristy Magee (she/her/hers) serves as the Graduate Advising Training and Compliance Manager for the graduate advising team. She has over 15 years of experience in higher education in areas of career development, advising, success coaching, student support services, and instruction at academic institutions including Rockhurst University, Mount Aloysius College, Pittsburg State University, and Wayne State University. Kristy has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from Emporia State University and a Master of Arts in Communication from Pittsburg State University. Professional certifications include the Certified Appreciative Adviser credential through FAU's Office of Appreciative Education, the NCDA Career Development Facilitator (CDF) certification, and the NASPA Certified Peer Educator Facilitator. Kristy has special interests in appreciative and holistic advising processes, creative training methods, and instructional design delivery. She is a member of NACADA and TLDC. Outside of work, Kristy enjoys attending theatrical performances, volunteering for local theatres, crafts, photography, and spending time with her partner and children.
