Currently, the UAC is holding all advising appointments via Zoom.

Please pay attention to the time zone you are in while scheduling your advising appointment. UAC appointments are held in Central Time Zone (CST).
Please save your appointment scheduled and appointment reminder emails as they contain your advisors Zoom link.

How to schedule with your Advisor

  1. Log into Jayhawk GPS via or
  2. On the right side of your Student Home Page under the Jayhawk GPS logo - you will see a blue button labeled "Schedule Appointment". Click!
  3. Afterwards, you will be redirected to choose the type of appointment - please choose "Academic Advising".
  4. Choose the topic that you would like to discuss with your advisor, then click "Next".
  5. You will then be prompted to choose the location of the appointment. If you are already assigned to a specific professional school because of your major, it is most likely that professional school will be the only option available. If you are looking to talk about switching your major to something outside of your professional school, it would be best to give us a call at 785-864-2834 and our Peer Advisors will be able to help you out!
  6. Next, click on the text box that pops up to choose your advisor to meet with. By selecting the text box, the name of your advisor(s) will pop up. Click "Next".
  7. Now you will be redirected to pick a time to meet with your advisor. Select your preferred time and click "Next".
  8. You will be taken to an overview page of your appointment that lists the time, location, advisor and details. Feel free to add in extra notes about what you would like to discuss in the "Comments" box. 
  9.  Finally, to schedule the appointment you MUST click the blue "Confirm Appointment" button in the bottom right corner of the overview page. Without clicking this to confirm, your appointment will not be scheduled! Once you click to confirm the appointment you should receive an email via your KU email that confirms the appointment. 
  10. You may double check to see if your appointment has been saved by looking at your calendar under that specific date and time that you chose.

Upcoming appointments can be found on the right-hand side of your "Calendar" page!

How to find your Appointment Summaries and Reports

  1. Log into Jayhawk GPS via or
  2. You will be redirected to the GPS home page that has your class schedule on it. There will be three grey tabs at the top each labeled “Class Information”, “Reports” and “Calendar”.
  3. Click the grey “Reports” tab. You will be redirected to a new page that lists “Appointment Summaries” at the top and “Notes” at the bottom.
  4. There will be a table under “Appointment Summaries” that shows appointments scheduled and attended.
  5. On the left-hand side of the table under “Details” for each appointment there will be a blue “View Report” link. Click this link and you will be shown any notes the advisor has left for that specific appointment.
    Be sure to always check these, your advisor often lists links, resources, and any courses that you might have chatted about in your appointment.

Check your Messages!

In the blue, left-side navigation you will see a mail icon. This is where you will find important messages sent by your "KU Success Team".
Often, messages get sent here and to your KU email inbox. For example, if your advisor sent you an email that contained a link to schedule an appointment - you can also find this message here.
Various units across campus will you send you messages here regarding: Orientation, enrollment, academic standing terms, and program admission/denial decisions.
